Our Laboratory Animals
C57BL/6 Mice
C57BL/6 is one of the most established inbred strains in laboratory research. It is the reference model for a wide range of disciplines including immunology, oncology, neuroscience, and metabolic disease. In the context of aging research, C57BL/6 mice provide a consistent baseline for comparison and are often requested for aged cohorts up to and beyond 100 weeks. Their well-characterized genome and predictable phenotype allow researchers to generate reproducible data across studies, making them an indispensable strain in biomedical investigations.
HET3 Mice
The HET3 line is a genetically diverse mouse model specifically maintained for studies on aging and longevity. Unlike inbred strains, HET3 cohorts capture broad genetic variation, making them especially suitable for testing complex traits such as lifespan, disease resistance, and responses to dietary or pharmacological interventions. These mice are widely recognized in the field of gerontology, including use in large-scale programs such as the National Institute on Aging’s Interventions Testing Program. Their diversity ensures robust and translatable outcomes in long-term studies.
Killifish GRZ
The GRZ strain of Nothobranchius furzeri (African turquoise killifish) is a unique vertebrate model for aging biology. With a natural lifespan of only a few months, this species allows for complete lifespan experiments within a short timeframe. GRZ killifish display clear age-associated changes, including cognitive and reproductive decline, making them a powerful tool for evaluating genetic and environmental interventions. Both live fish and embryos can be provided, enabling laboratories to either establish colonies or directly conduct experiments on defined developmental or adult stages.
